Homework 1

 1) Media shouldn't be allowed to embarrass or humiliate people.

I believe that media shouldn't treat its users badly as people have their own opinions on what they believe in. In addition, embarrassing or humiliating people can have extremely bad consequences. Most media is made for entertainment or advertising, so if you don't like something that's on there you should just continue on as it is none of your business (unless it is something truly bad). If something isn't your type then either move on from it or block the account so you cant see the content.

2) media is neutral/unbiased

This statement is false, as many forms of media can be lies just to get your attention. Most forms of media are created just for the money, so most things are biased to get people to spend their money, some types of media may also take your information just to steal from you to earn more. In addition, some forms of media people post content of what they believe, making it impossible for it to be neutral OR unbiased (some forms of this can be Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube). Forms of media such as newspapers could slightly twist a story or word it in a way that you believe the wrong thing, and want you to learn more by buying it again, therefore they will earn more money.

    So if someone posts something humiliating about another person, is that ok as it's just their opinion??

      No, what i meant by the opinions is that people shouldn't humiliate others for what the believe in.

 Tuesday 22nd September 2020 l.o: to analyse a media text using Media Language.    Camerawork The camera shot is a medium-long shot and this is given to show us more about the character. In this shot we can see that he has a gun, connoting that this is a spy movie. We can also see that he has a more determined/mad expression, which we wouldn't be able to see or take note of if it was a long shot. In addition, there are shadows, which shows that there are more things hidden in the background other than 007. Dr Octopus and Kingpin work together to cause a space time continuum rip, causing people to vanish. The only people left existing are Spider-Man, and a varied range of villains.  Peter has to track these villains down and fight them in order to collect components and to assemble the machine allowing people to be returned.
